Rimas Norus established the first hazelnut plantations in Lithuania

We have been growing hazelnuts since 2008. The very beginning was really not easy as Lithuanians had not mastered that kind of skill yet. We started with 16 varieties of hazelnut trees as we wanted to provide a sufficient range, however, not all varieties could be grown in Lithuania’s natural conditions. Today, on 21 hectares of land of we grow eight varieties of hazelnut trees with a single main stem, of which four varieties are a real success as they produce a perfect crop every year.

We have gained a lot of experience in this area, which is shown by a rich harvest of hazelnuts each autumn. Taking care of hazelnuts is important during growing the saplings and later – they need to be protected against diseases and pests, fertilised and pruned on time.

We have many years of experience and extensive knowledge so we are able to grow strong and high-yielding varieties, well-adapted to Lithuania’s conditions. We provide our customers with information, share our experience and give advice on how to protect hazelnut trees from diseases and pests, and when they need to be fertilised and pruned. The yield from your hazelnut trees will also depend on whether you plant a properly grown sapling.
